Stand Up Paddle inflatable boards make use of a manufacturing process called drop-stitch. This technology, which went thorugh a major breakthrough in the last years, consists of linking several plastic layers with internal threads which allow for a hollow and highly resistant structure that can withstand high inflation pressure. Many different brands are using this technology, each one adding their own personal touch or improvements.

The main advantage of inflatable boards over regular boards is portability, as they are able to fit inside a backpack, which has allowed a lot of people to try out SUP.
