Axis Frank Mako Downwind Carbon

Designed in Maui by Francesco Maffei (Frank Foilboards), the Mako is the result of exhaustive testing in countless sessions around Maliko and beyond. The goal was to create a downwind SUP board that is easier to use and higher-performing than anything on the market.

• Revolutionary rocker line: Designed to increase board speed and lift off the water effortlessly, achieving extremely smooth takeoffs.
• The combination of the rocker line and rail design makes this board extremely stable. This allows for a "reduced width," key to increasing glide speed.
• The bottom design is intended to enhance acceleration through the water during takeoffs, while also maintaining tolerance during high-speed landings.
• This ability to increase board speed also improves stability, as the board glides faster through the water, engaging the foil to assist with balance.
• The pronounced rocker in the tail ensures the tail doesn’t catch on the water surface while foiling and prevents the board from tracking too aggressively in a straight line, which could cause loss of balance.
• The flat deck offers comfort and direct feel during long downwind sessions, and provides a wide area for foot placement according to the rider’s stance preference.
• Volume concentrated in the center of the board provides maximum balance both when paddling and foiling.
• Low volume in the nose and tail reduces swing weight, making these downwind boards feel much shorter than they actually are.
• Full carbon sandwich construction with high-density foam under the pad is crucial for overall stiffness.
• Every gram of energy applied to the board is transferred to the foil, achieving maximum efficiency and performance.

All Mako boards include a custom-fitted cover designed for maximum protection and practicality, featuring a dual-zipper system (access from both sides), integrated ventilation, and storage pockets.
