The Mako V2 has everything you loved about the Mako, but easier, faster, and with higher performance.
The original Mako set a benchmark for stability and ease of paddle take-offs. Instead of reinventing it, Frank focused on the details, and the sum of those details makes all the difference in this Mako V2, which is faster, more stable, and releases earlier. The latter is crucial for the smaller, faster high aspect foils that many of us use today.
A new nose profile, a revised rocker, and a refined hull favor acceleration and make touchdowns smoother and more forgiving. Its slightly wider outline and reshaped deck offer a more direct connection with the foil and greater control once you are up on foil.
Available in five sizes, from 90 to 130 liters, all featuring Axis carbon construction.

Features of the Axis Mako V2 Downwind Carbon:
- Nose and volume distribution: Features slightly more volume toward the nose while maintaining overall balance. This new design and distribution prevents the nose from submerging during take-off.
- New bottom shape and rocker: Entirely new bottom design and rocker focused on gaining speed, stability, and release. The added stability allows for more efficient and powerful strokes. The rocker improves acceleration and, together with the bottom shape, lets the board release faster and recover more forgivingly during touchdowns.
- Reshaped deck to reduce thickness in the standing area: Delivers a more direct feel and greater control over the foil.
- New dimensions: Increased length and width to suit the Axis Tempo foil range and today's high aspect wings, which require more speed to take off. The added length and width facilitate acceleration, release, and paddling. Once up on foil, the extra width provides more leverage over the wing in turns, delivering greater control at high speeds and through quick directional changes.
- Includes fitted nose and tail protectors: Built-in protection from day one to safeguard the areas most exposed to impacts.
- Includes downwind-specific board bag: High-quality padded bag, custom-tailored for this model.
