The Above range is designed incorporating everything learned from downwind SUP and wingfoil. Starting from the long and narrow shapes of the Ace Foil (extremely efficient and fast in light wind), the goal has been to retain the same early take-off ability while gaining far greater maneuverability and forgiveness on touchdowns.

To achieve this, the length has been slightly shortened, narrow outlines are kept, and a combination has been made of the parallel mid-section from the Take Off range, the pronounced V-nose of the X-15, and a slightly wider nose and tail for extra forgiveness.

In short, the Above ASAP is the ideal “all-in-one” board for safely starting in foiling thanks to its dimensions and its ultra-durable ASAP construction.

Features of the Starboard Above ASAP:

• 12"12" US box in the center to fit a Drake Shallow fin, allowing you to practice wing control before progressing to foil."
• ASAP = As Strong As Possible → maximum durability. High-density, impact-resistant thermoformed EVA foam wraps the rails from nose to tail, plus a 3 mm thick EVA pad on the nose underside to prevent any damage in case of falls.
• V-nose that reduces drag and allows soft landings with quick re-launch onto the foil.
• Parallel mid-section for balanced glide and good tracking during take-off.
• Flat deck that maximizes usable width, providing comfort and responsiveness while keeping a thin profile over the foil (larger models add extra deck volume for flotation).
• Round pin tail for excellent tracking and clean, efficient water release.
• Boxy rails that reduce overall width yet maintain stability and speed up take-off.
• Optimized bottom shape: rounded V in the nose → flat in the mid-section → soft round tail = maximum stability and clean release.
• Triple footstrap inserts for fully customizable strap positions.
