The Starboard Pro Acute Carbon 2026 introduces new finishes while retaining the proven shapes that deliver exceptional wave performance.

Designed and developed in Portugal with Starboard team riders Franz Orsi, Benoit Carpentier, Leonard Nika, Trevor Tunnington, Claudio Nika, and Daniel Hasuylo, the Pro is more surf-oriented with outstanding wave performance. From the smallest 7'5" model, which is slimmer with lower volume, to the 9'0", all sizes have been redesigned with these innovations:

  • This shape provides more speed for preparing and completing maneuvers, better grip in turns on larger waves, and enhanced responsiveness across all sections.
  • The rocker is more forgiving on steep take-offs, the flatter stance feels stiffer, and the new fin positions offer greater control and drive in turns.
  • The slimmer nose profile reduces swing weight for more radical movements, while the thinner tail provides increased speed and responsiveness in turns.

Sizes:

  • The 8'7"x29.5" retains the same dimensions as the previous model but feels more stable. The thin rails and sharp squash tail hold well in bigger waves, giving you more control to push harder in turns. The slightly flatter tail rocker and pulled-in nose translate to greater take-off speed.
  • The 8'2"x29" replaces the previous 8'0", with extended length for catching waves earlier and maintaining direction on steeper take-offs. With 115 L, it’s perfect for riders up to 95 kg. The new fin placement provides the necessary bite and maneuverability for more aggressive turns.
  • The 7'10"x28" with 100 L is slightly slimmer and longer than the previous 7'7", feeling less unstable despite reduced volume. The added length and narrower nose help with late entries into hollower waves, offering more speed. The squash tail provides smoothness and confidence for powerful turns on critical sections.
  • The 7'5"x26.75" has been a sensation among Starboard team riders during development for its buoyancy for surfers up to 80 kg, while delivering brutal wave performance. The narrow nose cuts through turns, allowing smooth and dynamic driving. The higher nose rocker feels more forgiving, while the thin-railed tail is highly responsive to foot pressure.
  • The 7'4"x25" with 92 L of volume is the new addition this season.
  • The 7'2"x23.5" with 74 L is 2 inches longer and half an inch narrower than the 7'0"x24" Pro, excelling in steep drops and barrel riding. Its narrower outline increases speed, and the rounded pin tail with thin rails ensures smooth turns and control in challenging waves.
  • The 7'0"x24" with only 75 L is highly reactive and designed for high performance, offering better control in big waves, fluid maneuvers, and confidence to progress.
