Appletree Zapple
We introduce the Appletree Zapple, a board fully compatible with Foil Drive. The board was designed in collaboration with the Foil Drive team to ensure it fits perfectly with the Foil Drive system and minimizes water turbulence. Its recessed design reduces drag and keeps the battery weight closer to your feet, giving you greater control during tight turns and high-speed runs.
Key features of the Appletree Zapple:
- Reduced drag: The recess decreases the exposed surface area, significantly reducing drag.
- Improved weight distribution: Positioning the battery closer to your feet enhances control, especially in turns, by reducing the tendency of the weight to shift outward.
- Surface skimming capability: When motoring back to shore, the board can skim across the water without the battery box creating drag, allowing smoother rides and higher propeller placement on the mast.
- Enhanced foiling performance: Lower chance of the propeller touching the water, improving flow during non-motorized foiling sessions.
- Extended battery life: Lower drag optimizes battery efficiency, enabling longer foiling sessions.
- No more signal issues: Features advanced signal optimization that eliminates interruptions, even in demanding conditions.
- Available in four sizes: 38L, 46L, 54L and 62L. With the added power, you can get away with riding a very small board. Larger sizes also make sense, as they make starting easier and provide extra security on downwinders far from the coast.
- Midlength design: The boards are essentially midlength models, with the foil positioned quite far forward, making the extra length and volume less noticeable.
- Easy battery replacement: The Foil Drive team has developed special barrel bolts that make battery changes as straightforward as on a board without a recess. Easy and seamless.
- Includes deck pad: The Zapple comes with comfortable, grippy pads and a kick tail so you can feel where you are on the board. Strap inserts are available as a custom option.
All stock boards are standard compatible with the Foil Drive Gen2 system. For custom boards, you also have the option to make it compatible with the new Foil Drive Fusion system. The Fusion system has a larger battery and extends slightly further forward than the standard Gen2. This means the Fusion will fit in the standard Zapple and Zapple S, but the foil will sit further back. While this will be fine for many riders, you may want to move the box forward to find your perfect position. If so, contact us for personalized advice.

Every aspect of this board’s design has been tested and perfected together with the Foil Drive team, from the layup to the foil box positioning.
